Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is a portrait photographer who is most famous for her portraits of celebrities. Leibovitz is one of my favorite photographers because of how she takes very dramatic photos that are pleasing to the eye. I also love her series of photos that are portraits of celebrities posed as Disney characters. Leibovitz’s photography inspired me to begin taking photography because of how beautiful her pictures are but she also caught my attention by using Disney characters from my childhood. Overall, I have always loved Leibovitz’s photography style. She usually captures a good sense of motion and emotion in the subject.

Peter Lik

Peter Lik is a photographer from Australia, best known for his nature and panoramic landscape images. Unlike most Photographers Peter is self thought and he learned by trial and error. Through this trail and error Peter Lik ended up selling a picture for $6.5 million dollars. Making it the most expensive photo ever sold. (Below)

Peter Lik in my opinion is leaving my dream. He gets to travel the world taking photos for a living. There is nothing else I rather do in my life then travel. Seeing the world and how differently people live it sounds fascinating to me.

Brothers in Arms

(I don’t know what to put down or what to do, so for now I went with a image off my phone from my favorite online video game called “Starcarft ii” (the double I’s represent 2) and this is my favorite scene in one of the campaigns call “Legacy Of The Void” that you can play in the game, and this is an ending scene for a mission, and that mission is called “Brothers in Arms”)

The Blue Marble

I’m not going to lie, I don’t know many photographers outside my family. But to satisfy the means of this homework assignment, I will be writing about William Anders, the first person to take a picture of the Earth from outer space. It was taken on Christmas Eve 1968 when he was aboard Apollo 8. This picture, being as old as it is, captures what the world was before humanity went further downhill in terms of global warming. Even though that wasn’t the sole purpose of this picture, many depictions can be made. The idea for this picture was for science; it was taken to see what Earth looked like on the outside like no one has ever seen. It gave a taste of astronomy and photography in one picture. The first picture shown is the one taken my William Anders in 1968 while the next one was taken recently by a NOAA/NASA satellite in January of 2017.

Brendan North

Brendan North is a photographer based in Los Angeles. He has amassed over 1 million followers through social media. He is a self represented photographer and enjoys photographing portraits and fine arts. Brendan likes to push the boundaries and express what he sees in the world through the lens of a camera. For example, two of the attached pictures represent how the world is so infatuated with technology and forgets about the real world.

Brendan has inspired me to pick up a camera and explore the world. His work is astounding and to me it emanates what the world is currently going through. How he captures the environment and people in general is extraordinary. He has become a role model along with a few other photographers, but his work just piques my interest and hopefully one day I’ll be on the same level as him if not better.
